1978 Dodge Sportsman

1978 Dodge Sportsman 1978 Dodge Sportsman 1978 Dodge Sportsman This 1978 Dodge Sportsman Ambulance is a re-creation of the Transcon Medi-Vac from the Cannonball Run, done with the blessings of Brock Yates. In the Cannonball Run movie, the Transcon Medi-Vac van was driven by Brock Yates in the actual running of the 1979 race. With the disguise of an ambulance, the Sportsman was able to avoid the law while hitting speed of 130 MPH, thanks to its Dick Landy built 440 Magnum backed by an A727 transmission.

The replica is similar in many ways to the original Transcon Medi-Vac, but its engine, however, is a 360 CID V8 unit with a rebuilt, factory 2 barrel carburetor.
