1972 Chevrolet C10

Chevrolet's redesigned C/K pickup truck was a brand new, clean-sheet design introduced in late 1966 for the 1967 model year. This light-duty truck had outstanding engineering and an attractive body design that took the North American market by storm. It had a smooth, car-like ride with modern independent front suspension and coil springs located at all four corners. For buyers seeking additional cargo capacity, auxiliary leaf springs were optional. Power was from a wide range of available six-cylinder and V-8 powertrains mated to manual and automatic transmissions, plus GM's available four-wheel drive design. With the well-engineered drop-frame structure, ride and overall height was lower than ever before, yet retaining ground clearance.

Chevrolet advertised their pickups as '… a new concept in personalized pickups.' Over the years that followed, the interior appointments were progressively improved and the list of optional and standard amenities quickly grew, allowing buyer's to personalize their pickups as needed. Along with the growing list of amenities, styling was carefully refined through production, and well-appointed upscale models appeared later, including Chevy's Cheyenne and GMC's Sierra lines.

By 1971, the list of standard equipment included front-disc brakes. Production of the 'Glamour Series' pickups continued through 1972, with significantly redesigned models arriving for 1973.

Chevrolet offered a wide array of body styles from on the 1967-1972 pickups, including Fleetsides and Stepsides, with varying sizes of cargo box sizes, and load capacities - including half, three-quarter, and one-ton. During the 1967 to 1972 period the top engine displacement went from the 283ci to 402ci.
