March 3, 2015 by Renaultsport

MOTOGP TEAM BACKER TO TITLE SPONSOR CLIO CUP TEAMS CHAMPION SV RACING IN 20152014 Teams Champion SV Racing has attracted major sponsorship from British hero Cal Crutchlow's MotoGP team backer CWM FX for its 2015 Renault UK Clio Cup campaign and in doing so has also signed Ben Seyfried (Yeovil) to partner the previously confirmed Ant Whorton-Eales in its driver line-up.

CWM FX not only becomes the new title sponsor of SVR, but its growing portfolio of sponsorships also includes Chelsea Football Club, Wigan Warriors rugby league, CWM LCR Honda in MotoGP, CWM Cyclone boxing promotions, Sport Industry Breakfast Club and the sponsorship of the Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award in 2015.

As per the LCR MotoGP bikes, CWM FX's distinctive livery will appear across all of Cheshire-based SVR's Clio Cup cars in 2015 – it hopes to confirm two more drivers in the coming weeks prior to the start of the new season at Brands Hatch, Kent on the weekend of Sat 4th/Sun 5th April. All 18 races on this year's Renault UK Clio Cup calendar take place at British Touring Car Championship events meaning huge trackside crowds and live TV coverage on ITV4.

'I'm absolutely delighted to announce our partnership with market leaders CWM FX,' commented Team Principal Daniel Buxton. 'It's a significant achievement for SVR and provides us with a superb platform to expand in the BTCC environment together.

'There are key synergies between our strategic ambitions and the sporting ventures already operating under the CMW FX umbrella. The collaboration will deliver many exciting opportunities for both sides and I can't wait to get started.'

Craig Droste, General Manager of CWM FX added: 'The financial industry requires discipline, training and quick decision making, sharing many of the key attributes necessary to be successful in the racing world. Ben Seyfried and SV Racing team have an abundance of talent and commitment to the sport. We look forward to supporting them in the quest to win the Renault UK Clio Cup in this new exciting season.'

Meanwhile Seyfried is expected to join Whorton-Eales in fighting at the sharp end of the Clio Cup grid – the 40-year old has three Super Mighty Minis titles to his name as well as other notable accolades from club-level competition and has looked impressive in initial testing with SVR.

The Somerset racer said: 'The whole thing is very exciting, but I'm under no illusions; my undertaking is huge and I'll be up against some really good drivers in the Renault UK Clio Cup. I will need to raise my game and I know there's still a lot to learn with the Clio Cup car – every day in a race car is a learning day and the transition during testing hasn't been easy – but I bring a cool, calm head and maturity, as well as a keen desire to get stuck in.
