◾Chevrolet Café invites enthusiasts to experience the world of Chevrolet performance cars

◾Special surprise planned on Friday, June 26, 2015

Zurich – On the heels of the 83rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Chevrolet will return to another iconic gathering, the Goodwood Festival of Speed with the most impressive display of its iconic performance cars ever. In the bespoke Chevrolet Café the brand will be celebrating the exclusive UK premiere of its fastest production car ever, the Corvette Z06.

The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 - Top Gear Magazine's Muscle car of the Year 2014 - is the most powerful and technologically advanced model in the iconic car's 62-year history. With the available Z07 package, the supercar accelerates from 0-100 in 3.4 seconds with the eight-speed automatic and in 3.8 seconds with the seven-speed manual transmission.

'As one of the biggest gatherings of motorsports and supercar enthusiasts in the world, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the ideal venue for Chevrolet to display its performance car capabilities.' said Alan Batey, Chevrolet Global Brand Chief. 'We are particularly excited to premiere the all-new Corvette Z06 to our UK fans and a very special surprise that we will announce closer to the festival.'

Right in the heart of the festival visitors will have the opportunity to quench their thirst and appetite at the Chevrolet Café all day, surrounded by the iconic Corvette brand, in a display that will feature the historic and current Chevrolet Stingrays.

Only a few days before the festival the Corvette Racing team will participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with two Chevrolet Corvette C7.R entries in the twice-around-the-clock endurance race on June 13-14. It will be the second time at Le Mans for the C7.R.

To get Corvette and supercar fans warmed up for the race Chevrolet is celebrating the 'Road to Le Mans' with a best-of Chevrolet Corvette Z06 videos featuring key members of the Corvette Racing team, such as British racing driver and four time American Le Mans Series winner Oliver Gavin, on its European YouTube channel.

Learnings from the Corvette Racing program were applied directly to the Corvette production version. 'The Corvette Z06 is a great example of the technology transfer between racing and production Corvettes,' said Tadge Juechter, Corvette Chief Engineer.

In line with the Goodwood Festival of Speed 'Flat-Out and Fearless' theme the 659 horsepower (485 kW) Z06 Coupe and the all-new Corvette Stingray Convertible will tackle the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb as part of this year's Michelin Supercar Run.

Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, with the annual Goodwood Moving Motor Show on Thursday, June 25.
