PODIUM RESULT FOR TANNER FOUST IN WORLD RX OF CANADA ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK DRIVER RACES D.C. NEXT WEEKENDTROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec (August 9, 2015) - Champion rallycross driver Tanner Foust put his Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo RX on the podium this weekend during a guest appearance at World RX of Canada.

'To come from the back row in both the semi and final to finish with the Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen Polo on the podium is a really great result for the team,' said Foust. 'Just making the final in this group of world champions and racing stars feels a bit like a win.'

The American driver is racing a select season of four World RX events this year with the Marklund Motorsport team, while also running a full campaign on the Global Rallycross Championship with Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross, and select dates in both Formula Drift and the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.

His last appearance in World RX was the British round in May and he said returning to the Polo for the first time in three months was an adjustment. 'It took me a bit of time to find the speed but by the final everything was feeling good,' said Foust. 'I'm excited to be on the podium and it's even better to be here sitting alongside my teammate this weekend.'

It was a double podium for Marklund Motorsport in Canada. Toomas 'Topi' Heikkinen finished second.

Next weekend, Foust travels to Washington, D.C., to drive the Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle in the seventh round of the 2015 Global Rallycross Championship. He won the second race in the 2015 Global Rallycross season in Daytona. Coverage of the D.C. race airs live on NBC Saturday, August 15 at 3 p.m. eastern time.

Rallycross is a blend of circuit racing, off-road racing and rally competition. It promises intense crowd-pleasing action in a fan-friendly track environment. As many as 10 drivers line up to start at once, piloting high-horsepower compact cars through race traffic over a challenging short course that features jumps, unbanked turns, hills and transitions between pavement and gravel. It is sometimes described as an action motorsport and is emerging as the top youth-market motorsport in the world.
