CHEVROLET HELPS PEST EXPERT GET THE BUGS OUT• Entrepreneur partners with brand to grow Payne Pest Management

DETROIT – When Willie Payne and his wife, Kathleen, decided to risk stable incomes to start their own business in 2006, they needed a strategic business partner – and a dependable work truck.

As a new business owner, trustworthy transportation and access to competitive financing were critically important to Payne Pest Management, which started with just three employees. Chevrolet Fleet and Commercial sales specialist Walter McGrath met with Payne and listened to his story.

'Access to credit is a challenge for many businesses as they launch, and this was true for us in 2006,' said Willie Payne, chairman and CEO, Payne Pest Management. 'Since Walter and the Chevrolet commercial vehicle team treated us with respect when we needed it the most, our business partnership continues to grow today.'

After purchasing its first vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, the Payne team hit the road to build their business.

Today, Payne Pest Management is among the most successful companies in their industry in the southwestern U.S. Their single pickup truck, which now has more than 200,000 miles, has grown to a fleet of 45 Chevrolet vehicles, including Cruze, Equinox and Silverado models assigned to customer inspection and service teams.

'All of our Chevrolet vehicles are dependable, and it's nice to know that I don't have to worry about our vehicles performing while on the job,' Payne said. 'This allows me to focus on growing my business.'
