The Concours of Elegance Highland Tour has been crowned 'Tour of the Year' at the International Historic Motoring Awards, beating a number of other world-class driving events. The Concours of Elegance 2015 was also nominated for 'Motoring Event of the Year.'

The International Historic Motoring Award caps off a fantastic year for the Concours of Elegance, following another critically acclaimed event at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. Thousands of people passed through the Palace gates over the course of three days of glorious sunshine to see some of the world's rarest and most beautiful cars. Earlier in the year, the Concours of Elegance was named one of the six best Concours events in the world as part of the Peninsula Classics 'Best of the Best' Award.

David Lillywhite, Editor of Octane magazine, which hosted the glittering International Historic Motoring Awards in London's St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, said:

'Our deserved winner of the 2015 Tour of the Year award - recognised for its fabulous location, routes, cars, spirit and organization - beat stiff international competition to this year's prize. Supported by His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent and Sir Jackie Stewart, tour entrants including Dario Franchitti and many of the world's most notable collectors, took in the country's iconic roads in a unique opportunity to see Scotland in late summer from behind the wheel of some of the finest cars in the world. The short film presented to judges captures some of this magic for those not fortunate enough to have been there.'

This year's two-day tour event ran from the picturesque Cameron House hotel on Loch Lomond to the Palace of Holyroodhouse – the stunning setting for this year's Concours of Elegance. The convoy of priceless cars, including a one-of-ten Ferrari NART Spider and iconic Ecurie Ecosse D-Type, tackled the Rest and Be Thankful hillclimb, visited Inverary Castle and finally paraded down the Royal Mile and through the Palace gates as hundreds of car fans lined the streets.

Thorough Events, the team behind the Concours of Elegance Highland Tour would like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of the event, with particular thanks going to HRH Prince Michael of Kent and Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, patron and vice patron of the Concours of Elegance 2015.

In September 2016, the Concours of Elegance will return to Windsor Castle where the debut event was held in 2012. Celebrating Her Majesty The Queen's 90th birthday, the 2016 event is set to build on the successes of 2015's Concours of Elegance. More details will be announced in the New Year.
