HIGHWAY EARTH CAR SHOW BECOMES LOS ANGELES ANNUAL COMMUNITY TRADITION• June 26, 2016 -- Nature and Collectible Cars Will Combine to Surround Beauty of Franklin Canyon Lake for 3rd Year

LOS ANGELES – January 26, 2016 – Amidst a town often known more for glitz and glamour than the nature it lives within, a little known car show is marking its path toward a Los Angeles community tradition – and leading the charge with a combination of classic and privately owned collector cars, as well as hot rods and other cool modes of transportation and their Los Angeles-area passionate car-loving owners. The Highway Earth Car Show (www.highwayearth.com) enters its 3rd year on Sunday, June 26th, from 9am – 2pm, and will be led by automotive photographer and producer Evan Klein, catering to an enthusiast base of more than 130 vehicles of interest that will once again wrap the 1.2-mile lake at Franklin Canyon Park (2600 Franklin Canyon Dr.) in Beverly Hills.

According to Klein, founder of Highway Earth, the idea to create a car show in an environment where people could relax, bring their cars and enjoy the outdoors began in 2014, with expanded awareness through both a website and a digital magazine. 'I wanted to bring our unique community of non-industry enthusiasts together to share their cars and their experiences,' said Klein. 'And I thought, why not create a special space called 'The Highway' where everyone gets a 'parking space' to tell their story.'

What began as a small showing that could differ from the traditional weekend 'cars and coffee' type of 6am gatherings, has become an annual tradition. Klein contends that the entire loop around Franklin Lake becomes a pathway of discovery, as 'you never know just what's around the corner!' And while vehicles in the past have included legendary Steve McQueen's Jaguar XKSS and his million dollar 930 Turbo, as well as the Bullitt Mustang, there are plenty of non-renowned personal restorations participating with equally intriguing background stories to tell.

'That's what makes it truly special,' said Klein. 'I'd rather see a Nova that you restored with your Dad or best friend and listen to the tales that come from those bonds – we live in a town where a lot of people can afford to drive whatever they want, but something that's been personally restored and can be shared, is truly priceless.'

While past years have brought out the likes of industry legends such as George Barris, who signed autographs in front of his 1963 XR6 hotrod, which was loaned to the event for the day by the Petersen Museum – the overall show is a platform for the people – in a place to tell their own stories.

Registration will begin Saturday, May 1st, on the www.highwayearth.com website for a cost of $20 – fee includes a reservation spot for your car to be shown; a copy of the Highway Earth printed magazine; free waters; raffle entry; and inclusion in giant group photo. Early registrants will be entered in a drawing for one winner to have their car professionally photographed and featured in the magazine, along with its owner. Parking and Spectator Entry are free. Donations for Parkinson's Research and Patient Care will be accepted. For video and background on 2015 show please view: http://highwayearth.com/classic-car-shows/
