Wolfsburg,13 April 2016 – The new Tiguan wins 'DesignTrophy 2016'. Every year the German special interest magazine Auto Zeitung presents this award to honour the most successful new automobile developments. The new Tiguan prevailed against 14 competitors in the 'SUV'category. In September 2015, the second generation of the Tiguan celebrated its world premiere at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. It impresses with its completely new and elegant design that radiates power and authority. Compared with its predecessor, the new Tiguan has a longer (+6 cm), broader (+3 cm) and lower (-3 cm) appearance. Not least among the factors responsible for the implementation of these new dimensions is the use of the Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB). The result is an unmistakable SUV profile with distinctive proportions and a very dynamic design. At the front, the unit of radiator grille and LED projection headlights (fitted as standard in the Highline equipment option) additionally underscores the powerfully upright overall impression.
