Right Car – the group behind the largest independently owned car supermarket in East Yorkshire – is the latest to join the Groupe Renault UK dealer network.

The new Hull franchise is the first Renault and Dacia dealership to be opened by Right Car and is a major step in the carefully considered expansion of its new car operation, which will in time see the group branch out from its existing Yorkshire and Lincolnshire locations and work to establish the renowned Right Car name in areas where the group does not have a presence.

Occupying a prime position on Clough Road – one of the busiest roads in Hull – the new dealership represents a £1,000,000 investment by Right Car. In addition to completely redeveloping the 1-acre site, Right Car has also acquired an adjacent building to enable it to display over 300 new and used cars and LCVs.

Displaying 14 cars, the state-of-the-art showroom features the new Renault Store retail concept that is designed to enhance customers' buying experience through designated zones and interactive displays. To offer existing Renault and Dacia owners the very best after sales facilities, the dealership also includes an advanced 15-bay workshop that is manned by manufacturer-trained technicians and master technicians. Outside, there are EV charging points that customers of the innovative ZOE and Kangoo Z.E can use to recharge their all-electric vehicles when visiting the dealership.

With a number of franchises interested in building a partnership with the family-owned group, Right Car decided to invest with Groupe Renault after recognising that the manufacturer was a great match for the way it operates. Right Car also felt that the popularity and appeal of the Renault and Dacia product ranges presented the best opportunity for it to significantly increase its number of new car dealerships.

Right Car joins the ever growing number of dealer groups that have invested in the Groupe Renault franchise for the first time or enhanced their representation of the brands with additional sites – the expansion of the dealer network having a key role in Groupe Renault UK's GO5+ strategy for sustainable growth, driving up brand perception and making it a leader in terms of customer satisfaction.

Such is the expansion that the Groupe Renault franchise was the fastest-growing automotive franchise in the UK in 2015 and was also recently awarded the Franchise of the Year by Automotive Management.

Groupe Renault UK, which comprises Renault cars, vans and Dacia, has experienced an unprecedented period of ahead-of-the-market growth over the last three years. This growth has continued into 2016 with 38,057 group vehicles being sold in the first three months of the year for a market share of 4.4 per cent – up 0.3 percentage points. Of these, Renault car sales accounted for 23,959 – up 16.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2016 and more than three times the growth of the UK car market; Renault vans 6,618 - up 20.8 per cent in a van market that slightly decreased by 0.5 per cent; and Dacia 7,480 vehicles.
