BREMBO BRAKES AT EVERY CORNER THIS WEEKEND ON DETROIT'S BELLE ISLEDETROIT, (June 3, 2016) – Brembo, the world leader and acknowledged innovator of brake technology for automotive vehicles, will be featured at every turn on Detroit's Belle Isle Grand Prix Circuit this weekend. At the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, Brembo will be represented in the Verizon IndyCar Series and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Brembo will also display several brake systems on Belle Isle as Cadillac will show its ATS-V, CTS-V and ATS-V.R Pirelli World Challenge race car, all with Brembo brakes. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and the 2017 Camaro SS and Chevrolet SS with Brembo braking systems are on display in the IndyCar paddock and will make frequent track runs.

Brembo enters its fifth consecutive season as the exclusive brake supplier of the Verizon IndyCar Series and will be fitted on the entire 29 car field. In the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series cars, 18 of the 29 car field are stopping on Brembo brakes.

'The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix is following the exciting 100th running of the Indy 500,' Dan Sandberg, president and chief executive officer, Brembo North America said. 'Our brake systems will help stop every IndyCar as well as 70 percent of the WeatherTech Championship cars. Out front you will see the Chevrolet SS with Brembo brakes pacing the IndyCars as well a host of Corvette Z06 models and Camaros doing promotional laps all stopping on Brembo brakes.'

The Brembo brake system is an engineered six-piston, monobloc aluminum caliper machined from billet with titanium-radiated pistons (28/30/36 mm) with a weight of two kilograms. The innovative system of lightweight carbon-carbon discs and carbon pads will provide consistent performance with the new aerodynamic improvements.
