TIN TOPS STORM THE HILL

June 24, 2016 by Goodwood

TIN TOPS STORM THE HILLTouring car racing is among motor sport's most popular – and spectacular – categories, and this year Goodwood is celebrating five decades of 'tin top' drama with a variety of different classes. Henry Mann, son of legendary '60s race entrant Alan Mann, kicked off proceedings this morning aboard Bill Shepherd's mighty 500bhp Galaxie, while former Le Mans winner Jochen Mass was customarily smooth aboard Doug Titford's Capri 2600. Fellow German Frank Biela proved that he has not lost any pace in retirement, the 1990 DTM Champion guiding his vast Audi V8 Quattro with élan.

Expect to see the current crop of British Touring Car Championship stars put on a show in the new-for-2016 Shoot-Out, with former title holders Andrew Jordan and Jason Plato among the big names duking it out on the Hill. Touring Car racing worship tends to be tribal so who will you be rooting for?
