CALLS FOR ENTRY: BARONS' BUSTER LANG CLASSIC AMERICAN AND JAGUAR HERITAGE SALES

Entries are invited for Barons' next two specialist classic and collectors' vehicle sales: the Buster Lang Classic American auction at Sandown Park (August 13th) and the Jaguar Heritage and Classic Cars sale at Kempton Park (September 17th).

All-American style at Sandown

American classics have a big following here in the UK and in Europe, with fans delighting in all the chrome and fins from the 1950s and 60s, and all that under-bonnet power, and Barons' sales often feature examples from 'across the Pond'.

The timing for the August 13th dedicated US-vehicle sale couldn't be better – it's sharing Sandown Park with the all-American Buster Lang Classic Car Show, giving a ready audience of fans of such vehicles. Owners of American classics are invited to consign them to the sale and take advantage of this ideal location and audience.

Entries include a potent 1969 Chevrolet GMC Camaro 6900cc (£30,000-£34,000), a very handsome 1963 Chrysler 300 J Code Convertible – a high-performance luxury car that's the epitome of American power and style (£18,000-£22,000) - a classic 1967 Ford Mustang 289 Cu In (£13,000-£15,000) and 1970 Ford Boss Mustang 302 (£38,000-£45,000). There's also a 'Hog' – a 1987 Harley Davidson 1200 custom hard tail chop motorcycle (£5,000-£7,500).

'Big cats' prowl into Kempton Park

Jaguar is a hugely popular marque with collectors at all levels, whether they're in the market for a family saloon such as a MkX, a sporting classic such as a MkII or that quintessential British sports car, the E-type.

Barons' Jaguar Heritage and Classic Cars sale at Kempton Park on September 17th sees the auction house take its annual 'big cat' auction to a new venue. What's not new is Barons' directors' enthusiasm for and knowledge of Jaguars. Tony Cavell and fellow director Peter Gascoigne were both well-known classic Jaguar racers and race car preparers, and have built and prepared a huge number of racing cars for their owners, including the ex-Roy Salvadori '1628 VC', the only surviving 'works' Jaguar Mk II racing car.

Not surprisingly, Barons has achieved some strong results for Jaguars, including the double estimate achieved in June this year for the 1964 Jaguar E-type S1 FHC, which sold for £63,800 at Sandown Park. Barons is inviting Jaguar owners to enter their cars for the September 17th sale.
