◾Audi leads the GTD class in manufacturers' points for the 2016 IMSA season
The Audi Customer Racing Teams of Magnus Racing and Stevenson Motorsport gave a strong showing at Lime Rock this weekend as they took the top 2 spots on the podium at race finish.
For the second time this season, the #44 Audi R8 LMS of Magnus Racing driven by John Potter and Andy Lally celebrated victory at Lime Rock during the IMSA WeatherTech Northeast Grand Prix. The #6 Audi R8 LMS of Stevenson Motorsports driven by Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell was close behind in 2nd place, grabbing that team's 2nd podium of the season.
As a result of the strong performance of both these teams and the continued success of the all-new Audi R8 LMS, this weekend places Audi leading in points in the GTD class of the IMSA Manufacturers Championship.
With close cooperation between Audi Sport® engineers, race drivers and developers, the Audi R8 and R8 LMS racecar were co-developed and share approximately 50 percent of the same parts, including the V10 engine.
