VOLKSWAGEN TEAMS WITH GIULIANA RANCIC'S FAB-U-WISH AND THE PINK AGENDA TO AUCTION OFF LIMITED-EDITION #PINKBEETLEBidding is live at charitybuzz.com/vwpinkbeetle; Proceeds will support efforts to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research

Herndon, VA (September 1, 2016) – Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA), in collaboration with Giuliana Rancic and The Pink Agenda, today announced the auction of the limited-edition 2017 Volkswagen #PinkBeetle. Beginning today and hosted at Charitybuzz.com/vwpinkbeetle, the auction offers bidders the opportunity to become the first owner of the new limited-edition #PinkBeetle in the United States before the model hits dealer showrooms in October. The winning bid will support Giuliana Rancic's FAB-U-WISH and The Pink Agenda to raise money for breast cancer research and care, granting wishes to women undergoing breast cancer treatment, and to increase awareness of the disease among young professionals. The winning bidder will also have the exclusive opportunity to fly to New York City to attend The Pink Agenda's Annual Gala on October 13, 2016 and meet Giuliana Rancic.

'The timing of the launch of #PinkBeetle makes it a natural tie-in to support the fight against breast cancer. We are proud to team with The Pink Agenda, FAB-U-WISH and Giuliana Rancic for this cause,' said Vinay Shahani, senior vice president, Marketing, Volkswagen of America. 'Volkswagen is committed to being an active member of the communities where we sell and service products; we hope that auctioning the #PinkBeetle will not only raise awareness for the cause, but also provide much needed funds to help find a cure.'

The Pink Agenda finds, funds and supports programs taking steps closer to finding a cure, including FAB-U-WISH, the initiative established by breast cancer survivor and TV personality Giuliana Rancic to help women undergoing treatment feel special.

'I know from my own personal breast cancer experience that a little bit of fabulous can go a long way. Through FAB-U-WISH, I work with The Pink Agenda to help women currently facing the disease feel special – and feel better – during their most difficult times,' Giuliana Rancic said. 'The #PinkBeetle auction is an exciting way to support women and our ultimate wish of finding a cure.'

'We believe that engaging today's generation can go a long way toward finding tomorrow's cure, so we are thrilled to collaborate with Volkswagen for the auction of the #PinkBeetle to support in raising awareness of the disease and much needed funds for breast cancer research,' said Lucretia Gilbert, Executive Director of The Pink Agenda. 'The Pink Agenda has contributed nearly $2 million to research, and this campaign will accelerate our efforts to make breast cancer a thing of the past,' Gilbert continued.

The #PinkBeetle was brought to market based on feedback heard from Beetle fans across the country. Initially shown as a concept at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the exclusive run of the 2017 Volkswagen #PinkBeetle model will be available in coupe and convertible configurations in a unique shade of Fresh Fuchsia Metallic paint, the first factory-offered shade of pink in the Beetle's history. #PinkBeetle, the first-ever vehicle officially named as its own hashtag, will be offered in limited quantities across the United States beginning this October, and is poised to become an immediate automotive trending topic.

The special edition Beetle model's eye-catching pink paint is contrasted by gloss-black mirror caps and black running boards. Interior design features of the #PinkBeetle include a black dashpad with surrounding pink accent; a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel; Pink Club cloth seats, reminiscent of the signature plaid inserts of the GTI; and pink piping.
