Two young Swedish racers will have the chance to take on some of the biggest stars of motor sport in the ROC Factor Scandinavia Final, a featured highlight of Monster Jam at Stockholm's Friends Arena on November 12, 2016.

Over 400 young hopefuls entered the ROC Factor Scandinavia competition. After an extensive selection process involving an online poll and a jury vote, the two winners have now been selected as 20-year-old Thomas Bryntesson and 22-year-old Jessica Persson, both amateur racers from Sweden.

The two drivers will now have the chance of a lifetime to go up against double FIA World Rallycross Champion Petter Solberg, double World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm and Indianapolis 500 winner Kenny Brack. They will all compete on a dirt layout using identical SuperCar Lite rallycross cars. The action will take place next weekend during Monster Jam Stockholm at Friends Arena, with tickets available from friendsarena.se.

ROC president Fredrik Johnsson said: 'The ROC Factor competition is an idea that we started at the Race Of Champions in London's Olympic Stadium last year. It was a great success, giving amateurs the chance to compete against some of the world's best drivers in identical cars. Now we're bringing this exciting event to Scandinavia in partnership with Monster Jam – and we have been thrilled with the response.

'Of the hundreds of racers who entered, Thomas Bryntesson and Jessica Persson have come out on top. Now we look forward to giving them the chance to measure their skills against some of Scandinavia's biggest stars in Petter, Marcus and Kenny. There's no chance any of these legends will be holding anything back and we expect a ferocious contest of racing at the limit on the dirt track. May the best driver win!'

'Monster Jam is the biggest touring family stadium show on the planet,' said Magnus Danielsson, Vice President of Feld International Motorsports. 'Each year our fans expect bigger and more exciting family motorsports action which is why adding Race Of Champions and ROC Factor makes so much sense for Monster Jam. Just like our fans, we'll be excited to see how the ROC Factor competition ends; may the best driver win!'

The event indeed marks the second year of the ROC Factor competition, which was first run as part of the Race Of Champions at London's Olympic Stadium a year ago. On that occasion the winner was British driver Bradley Philpot, who won the chance to race against many of the world's best drivers (pictured above).

This time ROC Factor Scandinavia will be part of 2016's Monster Jam performance in Stockholm, which is separate from the upcoming Race Of Champions staged inside Miami's new Marlins Park baseball stadium on January 21-22, 2017.

The Race Of Champions is an annual contest which has been held for over 25 years. It brings together some of the world's greatest drivers from motor sport's major disciplines – including Formula 1, NASCAR, IndyCar, Le Mans, MotoGP, World Rally and action sports – and sets them free to battle head-to-head in identical machinery. All the racing takes place in a stunning range of superfast cars.

Stars lined up for ROC Miami include four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, fellow F1 star Felipe Massa, 'Mr Le Mans' Tom Kristensen, Indianapolis 500 winners Juan Pablo Montoya, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Tony Kanaan, action sports legend Travis Pastrana, NASCAR champion Kurt Busch and rallycross ace Solberg.
