Worldwide Auctioneers gears up for a classic weekend of world class cars in ArlingtonArlington, Texas. April 4, 2017. Classic car enthusiasts stand by. Worldwide Auctioneers' long established Texas auction will this year move from Houston to its new home at the Arlington Convention Center. Over the past 15 years some of the world's rarest and finest cars have changed hands at the storied event and this year's two-day sale on April 21 and 22 promises something to excite everyone. Slated to cross the block is an eclectic selection of sports, racing and muscle cars, fifties convertibles, pre-war motorcars, classic trucks, motorcycles and even an offering of antique fire trucks. The auction weekend is open to the public and will run in conjunction with the 6th annual Concours d'Elegance of Texas on April 23 of which Worldwide is a founding sponsor, offering visitors the chance to enjoy a spectacular long weekend of world-class motorcars in Arlington.

The auction action kicks off on Friday April 21st at 4pm with the no reserve Monical Collection Auction, a hand-picked selection of 44 great collectable cars and trucks expertly assembled over the years by Texas collector Bobby Monical. 'There is something a little special about each of the vehicles assembled here and it's very exciting to see a collection of this caliber offered for sale entirely without reserve, so the highest bidder on the night gets to take home the car,' said John Kruse, Managing Partner and Auctioneer. 'We're delighted to be able to offer our customers such a prime opportunity here in Arlington.'

The Texas Classic Auction is scheduled for 11am on Saturday April 22. Among the show stopping consignments is the most successful Cobra drag racing car ever built, a 1963 Shelby 289 Cobra 'Dragonsnake', winner of multiple NHRA events and the 1967 World Championship. Other cars estimated to sell at over a million dollars include a striking early production 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS, one of only 200 ever built and an award winning 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, 'a model that occupies its rightful place on virtually every rank of the finest sportscars ever conceived,' said Rod Egan, Managing Partner & Chief Auctioneer. Corvette fans can look forward to a great offering of some of the best examples of America's sports car, including a rare and exceptional, entirely original and exceptionally well documented 1969 L-88 Roadster, one of only 116 built for 1969.

The oldest and one of the most authentic motorcars offered for sale over the weekend, as part of the Monical Collection, is an historic 1912 Cadillac Model 30 Four-Passenger Touring, wonderfully unrestored and astonishingly with only two owners since 1935. Other venerable consignments include a fascinating selection of vintage fire trucks, including a well-preserved 1922 Ahrens-Fox K-S-4 and a prize-winning 1924 American LaFrance Broadway Torpedo, each offered without reserve in the Texas Classic Auction. Full descriptions on all of the consignments in both the Monical Collection and Texas Classic Auctions can be viewed online at worldwideauctioneers.com, along with information on how to register to bid.

Public admission to both auctions is $75 with full color catalogue, or $30 for general admission. Details on the complete schedule of weekend events, admission and directions are available online at worldwideauctioneers.com or by calling 800.990.6789. The 6th annual Concours d'Elegance is scheduled for Sunday April 23 in the Richard Greene Linear Park adjacent to the Convention Center and will once again showcase a selection of outstanding automobiles, with all proceeds benefiting local and regional charities.
