Skoda Serves Up A Challenge In Budapest

•ŠKODA's Service Challenge returns for eighth consecutive year

•Over 450 ŠKODA service personnel entered 2017 competition

•Five UK finalists to travel to Budapest to compete in the international finals

Milton Keynes, 31 May, 2017: ŠKODA has announced the names of the winners of its Service Challenge competition who will represent the UK at the international finals in Budapest.

Now in its eighth year, the ŠKODA Service Challenge aims to find the world's finest people and technical experts in various retail and aftersales roles. Hundreds entered from ŠKODA retailers across the UK for the chance to compete in the international finals, which will be held in Budapest, in June.

This year's winners are:

•Andrew Walker, sales consultant from Alex Lawrie ŠKODA, Liverpool

•Julia Pank, service advisor from D.M. Keith ŠKODA, Hull

•Stuart Clark, parts advisor from Faintree ŠKODA, Telford

•Glen Davidson, service technician from Simpsons ŠKODA, Great Yarmouth

•Mark Shemilt, diagnostic technician from Westover ŠKODA, Bournemouth

The five winners will jet off to Budapest for a VIP trip where they will compete against their counterparts from across ŠKODA Auto for the chance to win an international title and up to £2,500.

Andrew Ganney, National Service and Development Manager, SKODA UK, commented: 'The SKODA Service Challenge recognises the talent that we have across all our retailers, and we are pleased to have five highly skilled individuals to represent ŠKODA UK at this year's international final. I would like to wish all our winners good luck as they prepare for the final in Budapest where they will be competing to be world number one against over 30 other countries.'

Over 450 ŠKODA service personnel entered into the competition that recognises talent within the ŠKODA retailer network. The first round of the competition tested individual expertise and product knowledge. The top scoring individuals were then selected to take part in the UK finals at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre, where they underwent a series of practical and written challenges to test ability and skills.
