Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Colleagues Given Unlimited Volunteering Hours As Part Of New Csr ProgrammeAll colleagues at Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd have now been given the unique opportunity to utilise an unlimited amount of volunteering hours as part of the newly-launched 'Give Back Programme' – a new internal corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme created to empower colleagues and benefit good causes both locally and nationally.

Committed to supporting three national charities (Parkinson's UK, Cancer Research and MIND), two local charities (Food Bank Milton Keynes and Food Bank Barnsley) and Supported Individual Giving which matches hours volunteered with money to donate, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd has created what it believes is a first for the industry.

Caroline Burnell, PR & Internal Communications Manager, and Give Back Programme Committee Chairperson, explained: 'Empowerment is a big focus at Mercedes-Benz Vans; we are trusted to be agile with our working environment and to come together outside of our immediate 'teams' to bring new ideas to fruition, so the launch of the Give Back Programme perfectly embodies this principle.

'Now, not only are we empowered to support charities and community programmes that are close to our hearts, but we also have an unlimited amount of hours and days that we can spend during the working week to give something back, whether that is skill-sharing, project support or physical labour.'

Created after a survey to all colleagues highlighted that nearly 90% (87%) wanted to give both time and money to good causes, the nine-strong Committee created a CSR strategy with a long term vision to promote empowerment to everyone to be charitable, achieving a regular feel-good factor with key events throughout the year, with the ultimate aim that giving both time and money becomes a way of life across the Brand.

Steve Bridge, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd, said: 'We are committed to keeping businesses moving with the products and services that we offer to our customers, and now we can keep communities moving with the wonderful people and skills that we have too. I am proud that we are genuinely contributing to and supporting such great causes and I look forward to announcing our annual total of hours donated and money raised.'
