• A host of exceedingly rare cars will be offered on 6 October at Bonhams Zoute Sale, Knokke-Le Zoute, Belgium.
Leading the pack is a masterpiece of automotive engineering never before seen at a public auction. One of only 99 built, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Maybach G650 V12 Biturbo Landaulet will be offered directly from the Mercedes-Benz factory. Debuted in 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show, by the end of the show all had been pre-purchased, making this the first example to ever come to the auction market. Widely considered the most luxurious 4x4 available, the Landaulet marries a potent V12 biturbo engine with individual heated massage seats and limousine inspired decadence. The vehicle is being sold in conjunction with the Laureus Sports for Good foundation, a charity which supports more than 100 programmes in 40 countires, fighting to address issues surrounding health, education and conflict resolution. Another rarity comes from the legendary Italian marque, Ferrari. The 1968 Ferrari 365 GTC Coupé (€730,000-870,000) is the 20th of a mere 150 ever built, and was delivered new to Mr Edouard Washer via Jacques Swaters' famous Garage Francorchamps. It is an exquisite example of the handsome and much under-rated Ferrari GT, with matching numbers and a Ferrari Classiche certification in progress. Examples of this startlingly fast tourer very rarely appear at auction, even less so in such stellar condition.
Another rarity from the British marque is the 1999 Aston Martin V8 Volante LWB, conservatively estimated at €170,000-250,000. It is one of only 64 LWB Volantes ever constructed, and one of a believed only 25 LHD examples in the world. A genuine four-seater car which doesn't lose any of its sporty appeal is hard to find, yet Aston Martin succeeded.
Success stories from UK marques are a common theme throughout the sale, with the sensational 1993 Jaguar XJ220 (€350,000-450,000), a true supercar in terms of design, performance and legend. Faster than the Ferrari F40 and the Lamborghini Diablo, the XJ220 is the fastest ever production Jaguar ever created, even after 25 years.
To celebrate the 25 years of Porsche 911 production, from 1988 a special limited 'Jubilee' edition was built for Porsche's three most important markets; the USA, Japan and Germany. The 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2-Litre Cabriolet '25 Jahre 911' Jubilee (€75,000-95,000) offered by Bonhams is one of only 43 examples of its type built, a number confirmed by the Porsche Museum in the marques home city of Stuttgart. It is in exemplary condition, and its originality is unquestionable.
A range of 7 vehicles will be offered without reserve, including a 1994 Ferrari 456 GT Coupé which has covered only 39,600km from new (€60,000-80,000), a 1975 Porsche 911S 2.7 Sunroof Coupé (€35,000-45,000) and a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 MkI BT7 Roadster (€60,000-80,000).

Similarly one of only 99 examples ever constructed is the 2004 Aston Martin DB AR1 (€250,000-350,000). The limited-edition, lightweight grand tourer was a collaborative effort between Aston Martin and Zagato, and was based on the DB7, Aston's most popular model of all time. In illustrious beginnings similar to that of the Mercedes-Benz Landault, all 99 models were pre-sold following its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show in 2003. The examples offered by Bonhams has covered a mere 1,000km since new.
