New Concept Turbo Test Machine Launced By Turbo Technics  •Aimed at small workshops

•Combines turbo balancing and flow settings

•Highly versatile and effective

Turbo Technics, one of the UK's leading producers of new and remanufactured vehicle turbochargers, has introduced an additional machine to their range of test equipment, the VSFR (Vibration Sorting and Flow Rig) designed to appeal to small workshops and garages. The new machine combines hi-speed balancing and vane flow testing for both passenger car and light commercial vehicle turbochargers.

The new VSFR machine utilises the company's extensive computer controlled measuring system technology together with high level in-house engineering capability for both core balancing and variable geometry turbocharger calibration. And all of these capabilities are contained within one machine.

Balancing on the VSFR

By using the same balancing process as on the company's successful VSR3 test machine and sharing the same quality construction, the VSFR is capable of balancing turbo cores at speeds up to 300,000 revs/min. By using the Multi-Adaptor turbine housing with built-in cutter both flexibility and speed of operation are assured.

Flow setting on the VSFR

The flow-setting process developed by the company for their successful VTR100 test machine, is utilised in the VSFR and by accessing the same database the new machine will set all vacuum actuator turbos as well as electric actuator types. The flow-setting process used on the VSFR follows the same procedure used by OEMs in the original manufacture of the turbocharger.

The continued expansion of the Turbo Technics' range of test equipment, is further evidence of the company commitment to the garage and workshop industry to provide the best possible balance and flow test equipment to help fit replacement turbochargers correctly. This, the company believes, will help to avoid the increasing incidence of replacement turbo failures which is costing workshop money and generating poor customer relations.

The new VSFR machine is available directly from the Turbo Technics facility in Northampton. Further details can be obtained from Turbo Technics at +44 (1)604 705050 or
