125 Of The Uk'S Finest Classic Cars Line Up For Auction At The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show

•Celebrity cars from the world of comedy head the line-up, including Eric Morecambe's Jensen Interceptor and Del Boy Trotter's Reliant three-wheeler.

•Extraordinary fast Fords are sure to make a splash, including a 900 miles 1980 Mk2 Ford Escort RS2000 and an 837 mile 1996 Ford Escort Cosworth Lux.

•The Silverstone Auctions sale takes place on 11th-12th November at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC, Birmingham.

Celebrity cars from the world of show business, extraordinary low mileage fast Fords, and a rare Lamborghini Diablo supercar are all part of an incredible line-up of 125 classic cars coming up for auction with Silverstone Auctions at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show on 11th – 12th November.

Eric Morecambe's famous Jensen Interceptor will undoubtedly be the headline act during the two day sale. This is the car in which he had his first heart attack in 1968 and was rescued by passer-by Walter Butterworth who jumped behind the wheel to drive him to hospital. Now carefully restored to Concours condition, the Jensen is expected to sell for £90,000 - £100,000.

The Jensen will be joined by the infamous Only Fools & Horses Reliant three-wheeler driven by Del Boy Trotter, resplendent in its tiger-print interior and iconic Trotter's Independent Traders decals. The Reliant is being auctioned without reserve.

Ford fans will be drooling over a remarkable clutch of rare and low-mileage models including a 1980 MkII Escort RS2000 with only 900 miles on the clock, a 1996 Ford Escort Cosworth Lux registering just 837 miles, and a 2011 Ford Focus RS that's done just 18 miles since new. The RS2000 is estimated at £80,000 - £90,000, the Escort Cosworth lux at £85,000 - £95,000, and the Focus RS at £38,000 - £44,000.

The low-mileage Fords are joined by the car that first put the word 'fast' in front of Ford – a 1972 Ford Escort Mk1 RS1600 in near perfect, original condition with matching chassis and engine numbers and estimated at £70,000 - £80,000.

The potential show-stealer, however, is a superbly preserved 1988 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 with just 6,000 miles on the clock. With an estimate of £100,000 - £115,000 the Sierra is a potential auction record breaker.

Also rumoured to be a potential record breaker is a right-hand drive, 16,000 mile 1990 Audi RR Quattro Turbo 20v with an estimate of £65,000 - £75,000. Like the Sierra RS500, the Audi Quattro has a strong and enthusiastic following due in part to its motor sport heritage, in this case as the road version of the car that transformed rallying in the eighties.

Joining the low-mileage Fords are two MGBs which have hardly ever been driven. Both offered with no reserve, the 1980 MGB GT has never been registered, and the MGB LE Roadster has only delivery miles on the clock. Both cars have been carefully stored to preserve them in 'as new' condition.

Best of breed supercars are a speciality at Silverstone Auctions and the Classic Motor Show will feature a number of rare and powerful machines including a 1996 Lamborghini Diablo SE30. One of only 12 right-hand drive examples and just 150 ever built, the Fly Yellow Diablo has an estimate of £280,000 - £320,000.

Porsches also have a huge presence headlined by a 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 R-Gruppe with an estimate of £90,000 - £110,000. A modified 911T built to specifications defined by R-Gruppe, the most exclusive Porsche club in the world, to emulate the famed Renn Sport RS, the Tangerine Orange Porsche was created to be the ultimate driving machine of the era.

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show is the UK's biggest classic car show and takes place at the NEC, Birmingham on 10th – 12th November. The Silverstone Auctions sale opens for viewing on 10th November, with the cars and motorbikes auction starting at 2pm each day on 11th – 12th November.
