(LOS ANGELES) November 29, 2017 – The world's fastest four-door car has sped from the record books to the Jaguar stand at the Los Angeles Auto Show, headlining a display that includes a trio of new products making their North American auto show debuts and the first team to sign on for the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY series.

The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 set a new record for a four-door sedan of production specification at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The time of 7min 21.23 secs, set by racing driver Vincent Radermecker, is 11 seconds quicker than the previous fastest sports sedan around the legendary 12.9-mile German circuit known as 'The Green Hell'1,2,3. The new record places the 4-door Jaguar ahead of some of the world's fastest two-door coupes and mid-engined supercars.

John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, said: 'SVO exists to push the boundaries of performance, luxury and all-terrain capability. The hand-assembled XE SV Project 8 takes that principle to the limit, extracting supercar-beating performance from Jaguar's most compact four-door sedan. The Nürburgring Nordschleife record underlines our commitment to deliver the most extreme Jaguar ever to Project 8 clients, who will soon experience this sensational sedan for themselves.'

Jaguar Racing also used the Los Angeles Auto Show as the venue to announce the first confirmed race team for its new global electric racing series, Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, led by Team Principal Bobby Rahal – three-time IndyCar Champion and Indianapolis 500 winner – will join the grid in the world's first production-based electric vehicle race series, starting in December 2018.

The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY is a support series to the FIA Formula E Championship and the first to be based off of a street-legal production battery electric vehicle. Races will take place the same weekend, and on the same city street circuits, throughout the 2018-19 season. The series will exclusively feature 20 Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY race cars, offers teams the chance to showcase driving talent and electric performance, while competing on the world stage in zero-emissions motorsport.
