Screen Used Mustang from the Fast and Furious Franchise Consigned to Carlisle Auctions

Stunt Car from Tokyo Drift, the Third of the Movie Series to be Auctioned at Spring Carlisle

CARLISLE, PA – Carlisle Auctions has procured some high-profile cars during its time in the auction business. The trend continues in 2018 with the Spring Carlisle Auction (April 19-21) at the Carlisle Expo Center as Carlisle Auctions once more has acquired another high-end/high-profiled acquisition; a screen used movie car from one of the hottest film franchises ever!

As part of this three-day auction extravaganza, Carlisle Auctions is proud to announce the inclusion of a 1967 Ford Mustang that was screen used as part of Fast and Furious – Tokyo Drift. The car's story and how it came to Carlisle Auctions is unique…so keep reading!

The car was born in 1966 and was ordered by Tasca Ford. Tasca Ford was named for Bob Tasca, the inventor of the Cobra Jet package and good friend of Carrol Shelby. The car eventually made its way to Hollywood as it was purchased and registered to Universal Studios where it was turned into a drift car. It became 1 of 6 made for the movie. Of those, one is known to reside in Norway, another at the Volo Car Museum and another that was trashed during filming.

After production, the cars were sold off. Its current owner took some time beginning in 2011 to review photos and convert it into what is now a restomod that can drift 'without the movie magic.' A full dossier of the car will be available via www.CarlisleAuctions.com in the coming weeks, breaking down all the effort that went into making this piece of Hollywood history what it is today.

'Not only can buyers and sellers alike expect over 500 consignments for the Spring Carlisle Auction, now they have an opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history too,' noted Tony Cline, Director of Auction Operations. 'We are thrilled to be presenting a 1967 Ford Mustang from the Fast and the Furious franchise and we invite car lovers, movie buffs and spectators to enjoy the fun and possibly make this car yours,' continued Cline. 'We look for our Spring Auction to be our greatest ever, and this car will be a major part of it.'

After Spring Carlisle, this gem could be heading to a new home with one lucky bidder. This movie and more specifically this car helped bring drifting to America. It's a must have and a real piece of history.
