Gordon Murray Revealed As Guest Speaker At The Upcoming Sports Dinner For The Victoria Foundation
March 2, 2018 by Gordon Murray Design LtdAn evening with legendary McLaren Formula One engineer-designer Gordon Murray, guest speaker at the upcoming Sports Dinner in aid of The Victoria Foundation on Thursday 8th March in Richmond, Surrey. Reminiscing about his time spent in Formula One racing, Gordon will talk about his time spent at Brabham Formula One winning two world championships (1981 and 1983), his move to McLaren International in 1988 where the team won three consecutive championships (1988, 1989 and 1990) and his move away from Formula One in 1990 after 50 Grand Prix wins, to McLaren Cars Limited and the creation of the F1 Road Car - still regarded as the world's best engineered car today - a racing version went on to win two world sports car championships and the Le Mans 24-hour race on its first attempt in 1995. Following his extraordinary career in motor racing, Gordon will share his passion for light weighting, and the moment that Gordon Murray Design opened for business in 2005 having developed an innovative and disruptive automotive manufacturing technology, trademarked iStream®. The invention of iStream® and its fundamental re-think on the way cars are designed, developed and manufactured is revolutionary and the company has since established a global reputation as one of the finest automotive design teams in the world.
