One of the UK's leading classic vehicle insurance specialists, Footman James, are bringing two examples of Jaguars to the London Classic Car Show, courtesy of Classic Motor Cars (CMC), including the first black Jaguar E-Type off the production line.

On February 14 – 17, 2019, the must-attend event of the year for any classic car owner and enthusiast is back. The London Classic Car Show, located at London's Excel arena, has been regarded as one of the UK's leading classic car events in the motoring calendar.

Specialist vehicle insurance broker, Footman James, will be attending the show with two very special examples of arguably one of the most iconic classic marques of all time, the Jaguar E-Type.

The first is a black 1961 Flat Floor Jaguar E-Type 3.8 FHC, which was the first black E-Type from the factory to be delivered; otherwise known as chassis 84. A full nut and bolt restoration was completed by CMC in 2011 and the car has remained in excellent condition ever since.

On the other end of the spectrum is a wonderful 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 litre barn find. The story of how the car ended up in this condition goes all the way back to 1970, when a young family purchased the vehicle. By 1975, the Jaguar E-Type had been laid up as the family found it too impractical with two young children, but as the husband couldn't bear to part with the E-type; they therefore kept it in the garage until 2016. The barn find was then purchased in 2017 and is now making an appearance on the Footman James stand at the prestigious London Classic Car Show.

Nigel Woodward, managing director at Classic Motor Cars commented, 'Classic Motor Cars has found two amazing cars for this year's Footman James stand at the London Classic Car Show. We always try and find something interesting to bring to these events and this year we decided on before-and-after as the theme. We think these two cars both tell a wonderful story and demonstrate the tremendous skills and talents of our team here.'

David Bond, director at Footman James added, 'it is always great to see how classics that have once been forgotten can still get the recognition that they deserve. It is with great pleasure that CMC have been able to supply us with two models that represent such an iconic marque. It is wonderful to know that there are experts out there that can restore classics to tip-top condition, keeping our classic industry alive.'
