The 2019 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Opens With An All-New Middle East Section

Sant'Agata Bolognese, 11 February 2019 – New format and record attendance for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East, which for the third year provides the season-opener for the Sant'Agata Bolognese constructor's one-make championship, now reaching its eleventh edition. Two rounds, with race weekends organised around three races each, with 20 Huracán Super Trofeo Evo cars lining up on the starting grid. What's more, for the first time the winners of each class will automatically progress to the World Final, to be held on the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in Spain on 26 and 27 October.

The event starts at the Dubai Autodrome on Friday 15 February with the two morning qualifying sessions, followed by Race 1 at 14:35 hrs local time, lasting 50 minutes. Two races are scheduled for the Saturday, with Race 2 in the morning and the third heat in the afternoon.

The format will be the same for the second round, to be held in Abu Dhabi on the spectacular Yas Marina circuit, which hosted the final grand prix in the 2009 Formula 1 calendar. Three heats will be run on 22 and 23 February, to crown the new champions of the four classes (Pro, Pro-Am, Am and Lamborghini Cup), who will automatically qualify for the World Final for the first time.
