FCA US LLC : Statement: Wiring Harness
May 17, 2019 by FCA US LLCMay 17, 2019 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US is voluntarily recalling an estimated 198,731 vehicles to inspect and clean, as needed, an electrical contact to help ensure reliable battery operation. An FCA US investigation discovered a wiring harness may be contaminated with sealer, which may interrupt an electrical circuit. Should this occur, the vehicle may exhibit stalling or intermittent loss of power steering. The Company is unware of any related injuries or accidents. Should an affected vehicle stall, it may be immediately restarted, while steering capability would remain despite power-steering loss. FCA US will contact customers when service is available for the 2017-2019 Chrysler Pacifica minivans affected by the campaign. Customers with questions or concerns may call 1-800-853-1403. Additional vehicles will be subject to recall in Canada (est. 8,294) and Mexico (est. 1,166).
