About the 2020 Nissan Altima
Following the introduction of a totally new generation design just last year, the Nissan Altima maintains its standing in 2020 as one of the most exciting, advanced vehicles in its class with its lean, architectural styling and confidence-inspiring driving performance. Altima again features available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and exclusive Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies such as ProPILOT Assist.
Safety Shield 360, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist, is standard on Altima SR, SV, SL and Platinum grades for 2020 and optionally available on Altima S grade.
The range of available safety and convenience features also includes standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) and Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA)2 on all grades. Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM) is standard on the Altima Platinum.
The 2020 Altima is offered in a choice of two powerplants, both newly introduced last model year. Standard on all grade levels is the 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine, which is rated at 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque (FWD). The 2.0-liter VC-Turbo inline 4-cylinder, Nissan's world's first production variable compression turbo inline 4-cylinder, delivers near V6-level performance with 4-cylinder fuel economy. The engine is rated at 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque (premium fuel) and is available on Altima SR and Platinum VC-Turbo front-wheel drive grades. Both engines are matched with a next-generation Xtronic transmission.
In addition to its standard front-wheel drive, the 2020 Altima also offers available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, which is available on all trim levels equipped with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. The system uses an advanced torque split control strategy that automatically redistributes torque to the wheels (from 0:100 front up to 50:50 front-to-rear) according to road and driving conditions4.
The 2020 Altima's expressive exterior design is lower, longer and wider than the previous generation with a highly balanced, aggressive stance that includes available 19-inch wheels and tires. Key interior features range from standard power driver's seat to a selection of audio and infotainment choices, including a Bose® Premium Audio system with nine speakers.
