Wednesday 7 August 2019, Gaydon, UK - Six courageous walkers have tackled the 470 miles from Windsor Castle to Edinburgh Castle this August in aid of two deserving army charities – and two Land Rover Discovery support vehicles were behind them all the way.

The vehicles, provided by Land Rover and supported by retailers Marshall Peterborough and Westover Salisbury, are evidence of the enduring links between Jaguar Land Rover and the British Armed Forces. The vehicles were essential to the smooth running of the ten-day trek, from the departure at Windsor Castle to their triumphant arrival on Castle esplanade in Edinburgh as part of the pre-show entertainment that proceeds the Royal Military Tattoo on August 7th 2019.

The Castle Trek is a fund-raising walk for two charities, the Household Cavalry Foundation and Royal British Legion. Four of the six walkers are either current or ex Household Cavalry servicemen, and all six feel a close personal connection with the causes the two charities support. Both the Household Cavalry Foundation and Royal British Legion support the rehabilitation of injured soldiers whether their injuries are mental or physical.

Sue King, Jaguar Land Rover Diplomatic & Military Sales Manager said: 'Jaguar Land Rover is delighted to have the opportunity to support this initiative that aims to deliver awareness and funding for such a worthwhile causes. We look forward to congratulating the team on this incredible achievement when they arrive in Edinburgh.'

Jaguar Land Rover is a holder of the Gold Military Covenant, offering programmes to support military personnel including education and employment opportunities. Over 1,000 former military personnel have been employed by Jaguar Land Rover, and the company also offers unique military discounts on Jaguar Land Rover models via its two specialist dealerships, Marshall Peterborough and Westover Salisbury.
