•New role and increased responsibilities for Sara Robinson

•Sara to lead new in-house Dealer PR service

•10 loyal years' service to the KMUK PR team, more in other departments

Kia Motors (UK) Limited is delighted to announce that Sara Robinson has been appointed to the new role of Public Relations Manager (Brand & Dealer PR) to lead a new internal team dedicated to supporting Kia's 186-strong dealer network, leading business-to-business and fleet communications and other additional public-focused activities.

Sara joined Kia's PR Team in 2010 from the brand's Product Marketing department – where she had become a familiar face on new product introductions to the media - and was initially responsible for the operation of the Press Fleet. She then handled organisation of media events before taking over the role of co-ordinating Kia's external agency support partners. In that role she led the communication to lifestyle, social and non-specialist media as well as starting the development of Dealer PR support.

In her new role Sara is bringing that dedicated and broadening Dealer PR operation in-house to ensure a quicker, more direct and clear service to the network as well as taking on additional corporate responsibilities including sponsorship activation and support, Corporate Social Responsibility communications as well as continued focus on lifestyle media, business to business, fleet and corporate topics. Sara will be adding additional resource to the Dealer PR Team in due course.

Sara commented: 'I am delighted to take on this new, broader challenge as Kia and its dealer partners seek to take the brand to new heights in terms of customer appeal and awareness. Our dealers are essential to the remarkable growth the brand has achieved in recent years and we want to help every single one of our 186 dealers build their own awareness and reputation in their local areas and with their loyal customers.

'Although I will have a focus away from the specialist motoring press I will still be a regular presence at our new product introductions and media events but will now be looking to widen the understanding of Kia's excellent customer service through our dealers and I am very excited to be bringing this operation inside the Kia UK head office operation.'

Dan Sayles, Head of Press & Public Relations said: 'Sara has been a central figure in Kia's growth over the past 10 years and has worked on just about every aspect of our media service. She is well known and highly respected by our media friends, our dealer partners and of course by everyone at Kia Motors (UK) Limited. She has earned this new challenge by taking our Dealer PR service forward and I am certain this new responsibility will give her even more opportunity to continue to Kia's future growth as we move into an increasingly electrified future.'
