Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Colleagues Dig Deep To Complete Sponsored Challenges And Raise Over £13,000 For Cancer Research UK

Instead of cycling their usual 100km from Manchester to Blackpool, members of the company team took part in a '100 Challenge' and netted more than £13,000 for Cancer Research UK by achieving a variety of individual goals. Sponsored challenges completed by colleagues during July included: •100 weighted burpees per day by District Manager Kevin Perkins; •A 100km single bike ride plus over 350km of additional cycling by District Manager Liz Verwey; •A 100km run by PR Manager Caroline Burnell; •A virtual run the length and back of Hadrian's Wall by Warranty Controller Helen Crossland; and •A massive 1,000-mile virtual cycle by Managing Director Steve Bridge. Heroes from the Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Dealer network pitched-in too. Rygor Commercials Director Paul Reed teamed up with Sarah Palfreyman, Head of Network for Mercedes-Benz Vans, to lead a virtual fitness class that raised almost £1,000 in total. Simon Wilson Financial Director at Ciceley Commercials, cycled 100 miles to land a further £2,100 while Jack Burgess from the Accounts team at the same Dealer managed 1,000 kick-ups in support of the '100 Challenge' too. Euro Commercials' Managing Director, Jeff Carne, also ran 100km in July in solidarity for the cause. The good news for Cancer Research UK is that following the fantastic efforts of the Mercedes-Benz Vans team, the donations continue to roll in. Steve Bridge, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK, said: 'Over the past few years we have raised £65,000 for charity. We're delighted to have added another £4,500 with a Step Challenge in January, and now more than £13,000 with our 100 Challenge.
