BLENHEIM, Ontario (6 August 2020) – RM Sotheby's is pleased to present the latest entries to join its highly anticipated, star-studded Online Only: SHIFT/MONTEREY auction, opening for bidding at 1:00 pm EDT on 10 August with lots closing in a staggered format across 14-15 August. In addition, the auction house has also released a new, exclusive sneak peek to kickstart the countdown for what is set to be the largest Online Only auction of its kind. The video runs as a precursor to three short episodes of video content, each giving viewers an insider look at RM Sotheby's and the nearly 100 blue-chip automobiles on offer in the auction. Watch the video here.

Leading the newest consignments into the Online Only: SHIFT/MONTEREY auction is an incredibly desirable 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 by Scaglietti. Truly one of the greatest grand touring berlinettas ever built and among the most desirable road-going Ferraris, the 275 GTB/4 boasts a perfectly proportioned design with the definition of mechanical engineering perfection in the powerful 300 bhp V-12 engine. One of just 330 examples produced, the 275 GTB/4 on offer in RM Sotheby's online auction, chassis no. 10045, was delivered new to Lugano, Switzerland and exported to the United States shortly thereafter. In the 1990s, 10045 was restored from the ground up and was subsequently sold to former racing legend and noted collector Skip Barber. Under the care of a single collector for the past decade, the Ferrari presents in superb condition today, having been shown most recently at the 2014 Cavallino Classic, accompanied by the lauded Ferrari Classiche certification and finished in eye-catching Giallo Fly Yellow over black interior. The Ferrari 275 GTB/4 is without a doubt the ultimate blue-chip Ferrari in both desirability and collectability and chassis 10045 is the perfect representation of a cornerstone example for one's collection (Est. $2,500,000 – $2,750,000).

Joining the 275 GTB/4 is an outstanding, time warp 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS, arguably amongst the best preserved and most original examples in existence. The 147th of just 200 275 GTS' produced, chassis no. 07805 was designated as a U.S.-delivery example and originally finished in Bianco over a Bleu Connolly leather interior, colors which it still proudly sports today. Having resided with just four private enthusiast owners since new, 07805 has enjoyed thoughtful and consistent care for its entire life. Now showing a mere 27,500 original miles and accompanied by its Ferrari Classiche certification, the current owner had the car mechanically sorted to his exacting standards while fully preserving the car's authenticity and originality. Since the completion of the work, the 275 has performed exceptionally well on the road, always operating flawlessly while delivering a motoring experience only a car with such pristine originality is capable of delivering (Est. $1,600,000 – $1,800,000).

Rounding out the Ferrari highlights is one of the Italian manufacturer's most impressive modern coachbuilt creations, a 2005 575 GTZ Zagato. While few Ferraris have been clothed by Zagato over the years, the Milanese coachbuilder often focused on show cars and one-off specials with the 575 GTZ, chassis no. 140719, being the very embodiment of both Zagato's history and its future. One of just six bespoke 575 GTZ examples built and one of only two such examples originally built for U.S. owners, chassis no. 140719 is thoughtfully finished to similar specifications of its most coveted period inspiration, the 1956 Zagato-bodied 250 GT TdF, chassis no. 0515 GT. Much like its predecessor, the 575 GTZ is painted in a two-tone color scheme of Midnight Blue and Avorio White, which perfectly highlights the Zagato trademark 'double-bubble' roof. 140719 is also the only example to feature special chrome fender vents, a further tribute to the very special chassis 0515 GT. Not to disappoint, the bespoke interior is equally impressive as virtually every available surface is appointed with a sumptuous tan leather and highlighted with diamond stitching throughout. Impressively, the Ferrari shows a mere 3,654 miles on the odometer and has been used only sparingly while being cared for fastidiously from new by its single U.S. custodian. Accompanied by its Ferrari Classiche certification book, without question, the 575 GTZ is the ultimate, truly coachbuilt modern supercar that is not only a perfectly executed homage to its Zagato -bodied inspiration but also a welcome and desired entrant for the world's most exclusive and prestigious concours events (Est. $1,750,000 – $2,250,000).

Completing the list of the latest star consignments is the sensational 1986 Porsche 962 IMSA GTP. Originally campaigned by Dyson Racing during the 1986 and 1987 IMSA GTP seasons, chassis no. 122, is a scarce opportunity to get behind the wheel of a beautiful factory example. Entered into 13 endurance races over the two seasons, 962/122 secured two victories in the Road Atlanta 500 Km and Road America 500 Miles events in 1987, as well as a second-place finish in the Sears Point 300 Km and two further third-place finishes. In the hands of drivers Price Cobb, James Weaver and Drake Olsen, to name a few, the 962 fought competitively around some of America's most iconic tracks, including Watkins Glen, Sebring, and the fearsome Laguna Seca, where the car clinched pole position. Under the care of the consigner since 1989 and coming to auction for the very first time, 962/122 has been kept in outstanding, ready-to-run condition, with regular servicing undertaken by the Porsche specialists at Automobile Associates of Canton (Est. $1,000,000 – $1,250,000).

Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions, RM Sotheby's, said: 'The SHIFT/MONTEREY auction is set to be our largest, most exclusive Online Only sale yet. These latest consignments, in conjunction with the previously announced endurance-focused entries, including the M1 Procar, 550 GT1 Prodrive and 365 GTB/4 Daytona Independent Competizione, are a clear indication of the diversity and quality of vehicles on offer in the auction. We are very excited to offer some fantastic automobiles in this sale, as we strive to make the Online Only: SHIFT/MONTEREY sale our flagship event for 2020, in keeping with the status of our live Monterey auction, which is an institution in the annual auction calendar.'

Each car offered in the Online Only auction will be presented with an unprecedented amount of documentation, information, and photography alongside condition reports completed by RM Sotheby's specialists. Whenever available, additional information on each lot, such as history files, production certificates, restoration documentation, service invoices, owner's manuals, and accompanying parts will be viewable online, once logged in, by clicking the 'View Files' button on the individual lot page.

Bidder registration for Online Only: SHIFT/MONTEREY requires very simple steps to complete. RM Sotheby's Client Service team is ready to assist interested bidders with any part of the account creation or registration process. Additional information on 'How Bidding Works' will appear on each lot page once the lot is live and when clients are logged in as registered bidders. Frequently asked questions on the auction and the online bidding platform will also be available on the auction page.
