Iconic 2009 ROLEX 24 At Daytona-Winning Porsche Riley Joins The Brumos Collection's 'Frontrunners' Exhibit

On Loan From Action Express Racing, Historic Porsche Took Checkered Flag by Less Than Two Seconds in 47th Running Of Endurance Race

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Brumos Collection today announced that the iconic #58 Brumos Racing Porsche Riley, which took the checkered flag at the 47th ROLEX 24 at Daytona in 2009, has joined some of the world's most historically significant racecars on display at the recently reopened, 35,000 square-foot facility.

On loan from Action Express Racing, the newest addition to the Brumos Collection 'Frontrunners' exhibit earned a place in motorsports history by finishing .167 seconds ahead of the Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley. The champion Porsche was driven by David Donahue, Darren Law, Antonio Garcia and Buddy Rice.

In its temporary new home, the Daytona Prototype sits alongside some of the most noteworthy racecars ever to have taken part in endurance competition. In addition to a selection of legendary Porsches, the Collection features historic models from Peugeot, Miller, Bugatti and other preeminent marques.

The announcement follow's last month's Daytona endurance celebration, as the Porsche Riley joined five additional Brumos racecars in honorary laps along the Daytona circuit. Driven by Donahue, the Riley was accompanied by the 1971 914-6 GT IMSA Championship Winner; 1975 911 RSR; 1979 935, 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Grand-Am Spec; and the 2017 Porsche 911 RSR.

'We are honored to have the opportunity to present this 24-hour winner to our guests, especially given the significance that it holds in the history of the Brumos brand' said Brandon Starks, Executive Director of The Brumos Collection. 'We'd like to extend our thanks to our friends at Action Express Racing for providing us with the opportunity to share the Porsche Riley Daytona Prototype.'

The Collection is open from Thursdays through Saturdays each week, with first admissions at 10 a.m. and last at 4 p.m. ET each day. A Unique Setting

In 1924, 16 years after the first Ford Model-T was produced, Henry Ford expanded production to a newly commissioned 165,000 square-foot plant in Jacksonville, Florida. The Brumos Collection is housed in a purpose-built facility whose meticulous design pays distinct homage to this part of Jacksonville's automotive history.

About The Brumos Collection

From the moment guests enter the grounds, carefully crafted design details honor auto racing history. The guard rails along the roadways are reminiscent of the guard rails you would have found racing along the tracks of a bygone era; a board track walkway leads to the building entrance, and the surrounding brickwork pays tribute to the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway 'Brickyard.'
