RM Auctions is delighted to announce that it will present The Glen Hague Collection, offered entirely without reserve, at its 51st annual Auburn Fall sale, held 2-5 September. An impressive offering of more than 70 completely untouched mostly FoMoCo motor cars and related parts, automobilia and scooters, it represents a timewarp collection often unseen in today's world having been largely hidden away from onlookers for decades.

Glen Hague first started his collection more than 65 years ago but, his passion for cars and career in the car business began at the age of 13 when he started working for a local Ford dealer. Hague then went on to be one of the top Ford salesmen in the country, receiving numerous awards and honors and was deemed Ford's 'Top-Hatter' for his outstanding performance.

Glen Hague's drive for collecting was sparked when an old friend arrived at his house with a Model A in the late '60s. He loved anything with an engine – cars, boats, Cushman motor scooters, Amphicars, and motorcycles. He read passionately about cars, enjoyed working on them, and had endless conversations with fellow car-lovers about the history of each car, which led him to become a recognized expert in the field of classic cars. Aside from being a local legend, Hague enjoyed attending car shows and swap meets, with his favorite being Hershey. He came to know many others attending from all over the world as he packed up his trailer with parts from each vendor – never leaving empty-handed.

The majority of the collection has stemmed from Indiana as he sought out cars of interest from locals, but any cars that originated from out-of-state still wear their original license plates. Keeping with originality, Hague was determined to find cars that were untouched and unrestored. He took pride in keeping each car in immaculate, original condition.

Hague's collection grew to include over 70 motor cars, accompanied by a plethora of automobilia. Josh, grandson of Glen Hague, says: 'Anything my grandfather could get his hands on, he would take it home, put it in a barn, and not tell anyone it was there.'

Even as new buildings started appearing on the family property, he kept the size of the collection to himself, and as Josh states 'nobody had a clue' just how many cars were in each building. The buildings that host the collection, have been on the family property for roughly 40 years, yet no one, with the exception of a few family members, knew how far Hague had driven his passion.

Donnie Gould, Car Specialist, RM Sotheby's went on elaborate, 'Knowing Glen's passion for highly original examples, his collection represents an amazing opportunity for purists looking for examples that have an honest patina, authentic untouched appearance and likely last ran when Glen himself drove the cars into the building after a cross country roadtrip. This collection is the type of quintessential assembly of cars hidden away in barns you hear aboutbut never see and we are simply delighted to present the group at our 51st annual Auburn Fall auction.'

RM Auctions is honored to finally show the world the beloved collection of Glen Hague this Labor Day weekend in Auburn, Indiana at its 51st annual Auburn Fall auction. Offered entirely without reserve, the collection highlights more than 60 Ford models alone ranging from Model A Roadsters, Custom DeLuxe V-8 Convertibles, Thunderbirds, and a selection of Tractors. The collection also offers almost 80 Cushman Scooters and hundreds of automobilia lots and parts that will surely be a great addition to any collection.
