•Eclipse Cross is one of only six models to score a perfect 100% reliability rating in survey of over 16,000 owners

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross came out on top in the 2021 What Car? Reliability Survey as the most reliable family SUV in the UK. The Eclipse Cross scored a perfect 100% rating from the survey, against an overall class rating of 93.6% in the family SUV sector.

In the 2021 What Car? Reliability Survey, Mitsubishi Motors obtained an overall reliability rating of 96.9% and placed seventh in the reliability league table of the 30 motoring brands represented in the survey. The comprehensive survey compiled the feedback of over 16,000 owners of nearly new and used vehicles, providing comprehensive data across 178 individual models and 30 manufacturers.

Launched in the UK in January 2018, the well-equipped Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross mid-size SUV is powered by a punchy 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and incorporates a coupe-style roofline and distinctive rear styling, providing a spacious yet sporty drive. These features are complimented with a plethora of safety equipment and Mitsubishi's 4x4 heritage.

Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor said: 'Mitsubishi may be better known for its larger off-roaders, but the Eclipse Cross is well worth considering if you're after a dependable family-sized SUV. Owners told us not one of their cars aged up to five years old went wrong.'

Toby Marshall, Director of Aftersales, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK said: 'We have always been proud of our strong reputation for reliability and to have the Eclipse Cross and the brand recognised in this way is very pleasing. Our New Car Warranty also demonstrates our confidence that every component has been designed, manufactured, and assembled to ensure maximum reliability.'

Following the announcement that International Motors will take over the Mitsubishi Motors in the UK aftersales business in October, Mitsubishi drivers will see no difference in the standards of service they receive from Mitsubishi Motors in the UK and can continue to rely on their local Mitsubishi dealer for aftersales support.
