BMW Customer Racing Teams Win Big at Road America; 2022 BMW M4 GT3 Introduced to TeamsThe Ultimate Driving Machine® was well-represented by more than 30 BMW drivers competing in more than 20 BMW racing cars this weekend at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wis., for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Presented by AWS weekend.

All four models that represent BMW of North America's customer racing program – the BMW M6 GT3, BMW M4 GT4, BMW M2 CS (Cup), and BMW M240iR – were competing at the classic 4-mile, 14-turn natural terrain road course this weekend in Rounds 7 and 8 of World Challenge series. Additionally, BMW of North America displayed the all-new BMW M4 GT3. This car is expected to make its North American competition debut at the 2022 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

'The large BMW entry this season at Road America is emblematic of the success of our BMW Customer Racing program,' said Victor Leleu, BMW NA Motorsport Manager. 'It has been a pleasure to watch the growth of our teams and drivers. It was a pleasure to cheer so many wins this weekend and introduce our teams to the new BMW M4 GT3. Congratulations to everyone.'

Saturday, Round 7 races:

Saturday's Round 7 races began with GT4 America Sprint X and a familiar face winning the multi-class contest overall leading a BMW sweep of the Pro/Am podium. BMW ace Bill Auberlen and James Walker won the one-hour race in the No. 34 BimmerWorld Racing BMW M4 GT4. They were followed by No. 52 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 in second place and the No. 36 BimmerWorld Racing BMW M4 GT4. In the Silver class, BMW M4 GT4 drivers Tim Barber and Cole Ciraulo finished in the runner-up spot in the No. 22 CCR Racing/Team TFB machine.

The next race was the GT World Challenge America race for GT3 machinery and at the checkered flag Michael Dinan and Robby Foley finished fourth in the Pro class in the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3. Foley posted the race's quick lap (2:08.313 minutes) on lap 21.

In the GT America race it was the No. 119 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Sean Quinlan that took the GT4 class victory.

The TC America race closed the day's races and saw Jacob Ruud and his No. 81 Classic BMW M2 CS (Cup) take his seventh consecutive win in the TCX class. In the TC class, Austen Smith was the victor in the No. 51 Auto Technic BMW M240IR.

Sunday, Round 8 races:

Sunday's GT4 America Sprint X race saw the No. 119 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Gregory Liefooghe and Sean Quinlan take the overall win and Pro/Am class victory. Tom Capizzi and Jean Capestro-Dubets finished second in the No. 52 Auto Technic BMW M4 GT4. Yesterday's winners Bill Auberlen and James Walker finished fourth. ST Racing drivers Harry Gottsacker and Tyler Maxson took the Silver class win in the No. 28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4.

Doubling up in the GT America race it was the No. 119 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Sean Quinlan taking a second GT4 class victory.

The TCX class saw a different winner for the first time this season as Stephen Cugliari won in the No. 57 Accelerating Performance BMW M2 CS (Cup). Yesterday's winner Austen Smith finished third in the TC class in the No. 51 Auto Technic BMW 240iR.

The GT World Challenge America race provided the finale of the weekend and Michael Dinan and Robby Foley added the cherry on the top of the Sunday (sic) to score the first win of the season in the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3.
