The Catalogue for Worldwide Auctioneers' significantly expanded Auburn Auction is now online

The catalogue for Worldwide Auctioneers' Auburn Auction is now online, as the company counts down to a significantly expanded and revitalized three-day auction and automotive festival at home in Auburn, Indiana, birthplace of the collector car auction business in America. Collectors and enthusiasts can look forward to an electrifying selection of heavyweight pre-war automobiles, sports cars, classics, race cars and select American muscle cars, including an outstanding no-reserve offering of great motorcars from The Rockhound Collection. The sale offers something for all automotive tastes and celebrates some of the world's rarest, most interesting and iconic cars. Among the many highlights are an important and genuine 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL 'Gullwing' Coupe, 1 of only 1,400 Mercedes-Benz 300SL 'Gullwings' produced, preserved in single ownership for almost 50 years, and a historic 1956 Jaguar XK140 MC DHC, gifted to famed auto journalist and racer Denise McCluggage by pioneering sportsman, race champion and team owner Briggs Cunningham. Starring on the catalogue cover is an ACD Club Certified 1929 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe with original engine, body, chassis, and firewall, never before offered for public sale and regarded as one of the most authentic Duesenbergs in existence. The Auburn Auction is scheduled for September 1-3 at the company's Indiana headquarters. Auburn has long been an anchor destination in the classic car world and visitors can also look forward to an exciting offering of some of the best memorabilia to be found, a curated marketplace of on-site automotive lifestyle vendors, car corral and swap meet, and enjoy a host of outstanding participant and spectator events during the celebrated and long-running Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival.

Also crossing the block in Auburn are a meticulously restored exhibition and track-ready 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta, an iconic tribute to the famous '14 louvre' Ferraris, with known ownership history from new, and a rare 2004 Ford GT Prototype, one of as few as four prototype cars remaining in existence, the first Ford GT Prototype to hit 200 MPH in testing. Outstanding pre-war automobiles slated for the sale include an extensively documented 1931 Cadillac Series 452 V-16 Special Dual Cowl Phaeton, a benchmark for all V-16 motorcars, with original chassis, engine, and Fleetwood body, the only known V-16 Phaeton built with a dual cowl, and a rare and striking 1935 Auburn 851 SC Boattail Speedster, 1 of as few as 143 original Speedsters built in the short two-year production run. Other high-octane consignments include a spectacular 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Restomod, a fresh no-expense-spared restomod built by noted pro shop Ultra Motorsports, boasting a supercharged LSA 6.2-liter crate engine that produces 560 HP, and a one-of-one, complete numbers-matching 2002 RUF R Turbo Cabriolet, a magnificent true manufactured RUF, as attested by its W09-VIN.

'As ever, our emphasis is on quality, on offering the most diverse and authentic selection of cars that each represents the very best of its type,' said Rod Egan, Principal and Chief Auctioneer. 'This year we are proud to once again deliver just that, but on a significantly bigger and more dynamic scale. We're looking forward to enjoying some of the best cars in the world with like-minded enthusiasts here in Auburn, one of the country's most historically significant automotive settings.'

Worldwide will continue a tradition of philanthropy at the Auburn Auction, with the addition of the storied 'Vietnam Fastback', donated by the host of YouTube's 'Coffee Walk,' Dennis Collins, a singular 1967 Ford Mustang that was one of just five examples built at Ford's Metuchen New Jersey plant delivered new to South Vietnam, and the only fastback of the group. This singular vehicle will be offered for sale at no reserve, with proceeds fittingly benefiting the nonprofit J. Kruse Education Center Career Coaching Academy, to be applied to scholarships for veterans transitioning out of service into individually meaningful and purposeful careers.

The catalogue can be viewed online here at worldwideauctioneers.com. Late consignments of quality vehicles are still invited and can be discussed with a motorcar specialist at 1.260.925.6789. Kruse Plaza, Worldwide's Auburn headquarters, is a 30-acre campus with a 200,000 square-foot, climate-controlled auction facility that offers ample space for both RV and vehicle parking, as well as housing the company's dedicated private sales division, The Salon.
