NEW SUBARU WRX AND STI ROLL EXCLUSIVELY ON DUNLOP TIRES

AKRON, Ohio, March 20, 2013 - Dunlop has announced that Subaru's newest high-performance sport sedans, the 2015 WRX and WRX STI, will roll exclusively on Dunlop Sport Maxx RT tires.

The Sport Maxx RT, which stands for 'racing technology,' was developed to deliver enhanced performance on the street through the integration of race-inspired design elements. The tires outfit the 2015 Subaru WRX in size 235/45R17. The WRX STI is equipped with 18-inch wheels and 245/40R18 Sport Maxx RT tires.

Some of the tire's race-derived features include:

◾Adaptive tread compound – helps deliver race-like grip and improved braking performance;

◾Massive outer shoulder blocks – promotes increased stability and handling when cornering;

◾Power braking blocks – helps enhance stopping power for shorter braking distance at high speeds; and,

◾Low-weight construction – lowers rolling resistance for better performance.

Powered by a 268-horsepower 2.0-liter direct-injection turbo BOXER engine, Subaru says the 2015 WRX is a more powerful and better handling version of the brand's iconic high-performance model. The WRX STI delivers even more performance, delivering 305 horsepower from its 2.5-liter turbocharged/intercooled 4-cylinder BOXER. Combined with a new Electronic Power Steering system, specially tuned suspension and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT tires, the 2015 WRX and WRX STI yield steering response that was benchmarked against top-handling sports cars.
