May Maintains Momentum for Holden• Holden sales continue to be up more than any other Top 10 brand in 2014

• Holden cements second position overall with 9,012 sales; 9.6% market share for May and 10.1% market share YTD

• Holden continues to outperform the market with 8.2% growth YTD in a market down 2.9%; nine consecutive months of outperforming the market

• Holden Commodore up 62% YTD compared to 2013

Holden has carried its positive sales momentum into May, continuing to outperform the market in 2014 and cementing its position in the top two for automotive sales for the month of May and overall.

With sales totalling 44,441 year-to-date (YTD), Holden has recorded growth of 8.2 per cent compared with the first five months of 2013. Holden remains the fastest growing of the Top 10 brands and has bucked the industry trend yet again, with the overall Australian new car market down 2.9 percent.

Holden Executive Director – Vehicle Sales and Marketing, Phil Brook, said Holden continued to outperform the market with strong sales performances across the portfolio.

'This is the ninth consecutive month that Holden has outperformed the market. Our positive growth and sales momentum continues on the back of our world-class product range and strong dealer network,' Mr Brook said.

'VF Commodore keeps kicking goals with sales up almost 62 per cent this year compared with the first five months of 2013 and sit comfortably in the top three selling passenger vehicles in the country.

'Our SUV range also continues to do well in the market and this month we achieved our best Colorado May result since 2006. In fact, if we include Colorado 7 sales the Colorado nameplate was the eight best-selling in the country this month. We also recorded our best ever May for Captiva 5 and the best Trax result since launch.
