Audi quattro Cup: winners have been determined

The 24th season of the Audi quattro Cup closed with thrilling days of the finale. At the Golfresort Berlin Scharmützelsee, 260 participants played to determine their German winners who will be traveling to the world finale in Dubai in December. Since April, a total of more than 13,000 amateur golfers participated in 130 qualification tournaments at Audi's invitation.

They are Germany's winners of the Audi quattro Cup: Nico Schellhase and Sebastian Topel (venue: GC Eisenach, Autohaus Göthling am Wartenberg) as well as Martin Richter and Jörg Böker (venue: GC Schloss Meisdorf, Autohaus Schmidt & Söhne Aschersleben) will be playing for overall victory against the international competition at the United Arab Emirates Jumeirah Golf Estates East Course from December 7 to 11.

On the outskirts of Berlin, 260 golfers who had qualified for the finale by previously prevailing in 130 tournaments in Germany played for victory during this week. 'The Audi quattro Cup has been a success story for nearly a quarter of a century. This clearly shows the great interest with more than 13,000 participants in Germany alone yet again,' says Markus Siebrecht, Head of Marketing Germany of AUDI AG. 'On behalf of Audi I sincerely congratulate the winners of the German finale and wish them a lot of fun and of course a lot of success in Dubai.'

The winners' trophies at Scharmützelsee were presented by Mike Rockenfeller. The Audi driver and reigning DTM Champion initially tried a few shots himself and subsequently congratulated the winners. During the days of the finale, the guests also experienced an excursion onto unusual terrain. Together with sailors from Audi Sailing Team Germany the golfers ran a regatta of their own on board of B/one-sport boats with a length of about 7 meters.

Around the green, Audi presented three models from its product range, the Audi S7*, the R8 Spyder* and the TTS*. For a 'hole-in-one' shot on hole 13 the brand with the four rings offered the Audi TTS* as a prize – however, as in previous years, none of the participants managed the perfect shot.
