• Numerous British and European sports cars and American classics to feature strongly at forthcoming auction

In just a few days at the beautiful waterfront park in Greenwich, Connecticut, Bonhams will host its sixth annual motorcar auction in conjunction with the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance.

Led by some extremely noteworthy highlights from Bugatti, Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce, the 100 car-strong roster – the event's largest ever offering – will present an extraordinary line-up of automobiles fresh to market from more than five different private collections.

Sports cars feature prominently among the assembly, from the original and lovingly maintained to numerous concours-condition machines, immaculately restored and ready to roar. Some of the most notable include:

1952 Jaguar XK 120 OTS

1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 2-Seater Sports

1957 Porsche 356A Speedster

1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL

1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale

1962 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Liter Roadster

1963 Chevrolet Corvette 'Split Window' Coupe

It must be emphasized that these are just a few, and multiple examples of sports cars will be represented from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Chevrolet, Fiat, Mercedes-Benz and particularly Jaguar.

American veterans and classics, too, will be well represented at this New England sale. Stand-outs include:

1905 George Pierce 'Great Arrow' 5-Passenger Roi de Belges

1948 Chrysler Town & Country 'Woody' Convertible

Once again, these are but some from the wide variety of splendid cars available, and multiple examples will be present from American Austin, Cadillac, Chrysler, Devin, Ford, Lincoln, Packard and Studebaker.

Representing British refinement will be numerous models of both Bentley and Rolls-Royce, while a 1947 Tatra T87 Sedan from Czechoslovakia will represent the rarities.

From the uncommon and novel, included will be:

1945 Ford Military GPW 'Jeep'
