Bonhams to offer the renowned Oldenburg family collection of classic automobiles at ScottsdaleMore than 30 American, British and Italian cars of various vintages head to Scottsdale, Arizona

Bonhams is honored to have been chosen to represent the highly esteemed Oldenburg Family Automobile Collection at its second annual Scottsdale Auction in January.

The extensive collection of more than 30 cars from the prominent horse breeding family includes multiple models of the same marque, including Ferrari and Jaguar.

The Italians

Leading the impressive assembly are the Italian thoroughbreds, which include the most sought-after Lamborghini ever produced and no less than five different Ferraris.

The 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV is one of the definitive examples of the original supercar and this model – still retaining its original interior and color scheme – is a stunning archetype in lustrous red with gold accents.

Of the Prancing Horse models, perhaps most noteworthy are the 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS Spyder and the 1967 Ferrari 365 GTC Prototype. The former is one of just 99 built by Maranello and the latter is a one-off created for the president of Pirelli, Leopoldo Pirelli. It was ordered new by the Milanese magnate using the existing 330 GTC body style but with the enlarged 365 motor, fitted with handmade five-spoke magnesium wheels; truly a singular, bespoke sports car.

Rounding out the tri-coloured stable are a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE, a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Coupe, and a 1972 246 GT Dino Coupe.

Other British sports cars include one of the rarest of all MG models in existence – the aerodynamic 1936 NB Magnette Airline Coupe, a brace of Austin-Healeys – a 1956 100/4 and a 1962 3000 MKI, and a 1952 Morgan Plus Four Drophead Coupe.

The Americans

From a Deuce to a Shelby, Ford is being represented by five models – a 1928 Model AR Pickup, a 1931 Model A Deluxe Roadster, 1932 Hotrod Coupe, a beautifully restored 1937 Station Wagon, and an extremely desirable and highly authentic 1965 Shelby GT 350 Coupe.

Additionally, the 1962 Chevrolet Corvette 'Fuelie' Roadster – which was formerly owned by David E. Davis – will be offered with other American classics like a 1956 Chevy Bel Air Coupe and a 1956 Chevy Nomad Wagon.

These and many other classic cars will take pride of place at Bonhams' second annual Scottsdale Auction on Thursday 17th January at the luxurious Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, a convenient 20-minute drive from Phoenix.
