Daytona-Winning Cadillac Prototype Featured At 22nd Annual Amelia ConcoursThe 22nd annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is honored to announce that Cadillac will bring the Action Express Racing No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-V.R to the Concours. This is a late bonus addition to what is an already packed Amelia show field.

Cadillac celebrates the recent win at the 2017 Rolex 24 at Daytona and looks ahead to the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

'We're honored to have one of Cadillac's new DPi-V.R Daytona-winning prototypes for the entire Concours weekend,' said Bill Warner, founder and Chairman of the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. 'Cadillac believes that racing really does improve the breed and that the DPi program is another change agent for the brand. In the spirit of their 1908 Dewer Trophy winner, the DPi-V.R's use of production design cues and components honor Cadillac's heritage and support reestablishing it as a 'Standard of the World' automaker.'

Designed in the production Cadillac studios, some of the details giving the DPi-V.R its contemporary Cadillac appearance include the vertical orientation of the exterior lighting, the body and line work, and the CTS-V-inspired wheel design featuring the same black-and machined finish and V-Performance series emblems. Another production vehicle link to the Cadillac CTS-V and Escalade is the race car's 6.2-liter V8 engine specially built for competition by ECR Engines of NASCAR fame.

It was just after 2:30 PM on Sunday, January 29, when a pair of Cadillac DPi-V.R prototypes finished one-two in the Rolex 24 - the first race and the first victory for the latest generation of Cadillac V-Performance prototypes.

Dane Cameron, driver, No. 31 said 'It was a great, really truly phenomenal debut for Cadillac. I think it's an exciting season to come in the new DPi category.'

Cadillac power has been part of the Sebring 12 hour since 1952 when a pair of J2X Allards powered by Cadillac V8 engines contested the very first endurance classic. Cadillac returned to Sebring in 2000 with the all-new Northstar LMP program and earning sixth place in the premier prototype category.
