Kia And The Children's Trust Launch 'The Power Of Wheels' Partnership

Kia Motors (UK) Limited has launched a new partnership with The Children's Trust, the UK's leading charity for children with brain injury. Named 'The Power of Wheels' to represent the synergy of the journey children face following a brain injury and the company's values, the partnership aims to raise £100,000 during 2017. Money will be raised through a combination of staff challenges such as runs, marathons, swims and treks, together with a £1 donation for every new Kia registered throughout the year. Kia's staff at their Walton-on-Thames Head Office pledged to raise over £11,000 through fundraising challenges, and also signed up to volunteer for the charity. Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia said: 'We are so pleased with the success of the launch of our partnership with The Children's Trust. I am running my first-ever marathon this year and am fundraising for The Children's Trust. I know everyone else who signed up for the challenges are just as excited as I am. We want to raise as much as we can for the children and families who are supported by this very special charity.' Melanie Minetti, Dealer and Channel Marketing Manager at Kia, has signed up to skydive: 'Until today we didn't realise how many thrill seekers we had in our office. Today eleven of us have signed up to skydive in aid of The Children's Trust after seeing the amazing work the charity does with children with brain injury. I can't wait!' Daniel Baker, fundraiser at The Children's Trust said: 'We are really looking forward to working with Kia during 2017, especially after seeing the enthusiasm and passion of the staff. Everyone has shown their commitment to helping raise vital funds to support the thousands of children affected by brain injury each year.'
