•This dynamic, versatile car adapts to all kinds of roads

•The interior features an 8 inch touchscreen

Martorell 12/04/17. – 'When you drive the new SEAT Ibiza it feels like you're at the wheel of a high end model'. This is how SEAT Technical Centre engineer Thomas Schauer sums up his experience of driving this iconic model for the first time. Schauer reveals the keys to the increase in quality that can be found on the fifth generation Ibiza.

•More roominess and stability: According to Schauer, these are the main benefits achieved by this new model thanks to the Volkswagen Group's MQB A0 platform, and which 'the driver can appreciate while at the wheel'. The fifth generation Ibiza is more robust and more spacious. In addition to being 87 millimetres wider, there is also 24 mm more headroom in the front seats as well as 35 mm more legroom in the rear seats.

•Dynamic and versatile: This is a dynamic car, and versatile at the same time. Thomas Schauer highlights that this is a vehicle that performs well driving in the city as well as on the open road. Around curves, for example, 'it adheres very well to the asphalt and has a great deal of stability'.

•More sustainable engines thanks to CNG: The fifth generation is equipped with a Compressed Natural Gas engine. In fact, SEAT is the first brand to offer CNG in this segment, thanks to the new MQB A0 platform. These models reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 85% compared to diesel powered engines.

•The largest boot of its segment: With a volume of 355 litres, which is 63 litres more than the previous generation, the new Ibiza has the largest boot in its segment.

•8 inch touchscreen: This is the first time that the Ibiza features an 8 inch integrated touchscreen. In addition, as pointes out by the engineer, it is also equipped with the latest technology in terms of connectivity. In the interior a further characteristic is the wireless charger with GSM signal amplifier.

•More driver assistance systems: This model features several driver assistance systems commonly found on the Leon or the Ateca, but not usually in this class, such as Front Assist, Traffic Jam Assist and ACC adaptive cruise control, among others.
