Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda For Sale By Classic Car Auctions Comes With An Aura Of Riviera Glamour

•Beautiful 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda in near pristine condition goes under the hammer at Classic Car Auctions' Sale on June 10th.

•Registered in Paris in 1970 and owned by the same family ever since.

•Expected to fetch between £50,000 - £55,000.

More recently seen cruising the Croisette at Cannes and winding along the Haute Corniche above Nice, an iconic Mercedez-Benz 280 SL Pagoda will be auctioned at the Classic Car Auctions June Sale at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, near Leamington Spa, on 10th June, 2017.

Dripping with Riviera glamour, the Tunis Beige Pagoda has been owned by the Guidicelli family since it was first registered in Paris in 1970, and has spent its entire life basking in the sunshine of the Cote D'Azur.

Driven only occasionally, the 2.8 litre engine is in good running condition with just 95,900 Km on the clock (59,600 miles) indicating its rare use over 47 years. The car has just recently been imported to the UK and the bodywork, paint and trim are in almost pristine condition. Its gleaming metallic paintwork is complemented by a dark brown hardtop and brown leather interior.

Supplied with manuals, service book and the original bill of sale, the Pagoda has a reasonably good history file; very good until the mid-nineties. The car is left-hand drive with a manual gearbox and has a sale estimate of £50,000 - £55,000.

'It's not often that such a cared-for, elegant, family-owned car comes to the market, especially with such an aura of glamour,' says consignor Nigel Gough, classic car specialist, Classic Car Auctions. 'The exterior of the car is in such beautiful condition and I expect many bidders will fall in love with it at first sight. It's a lovely example of sixties sophistication and elegance.'
