Another Pink Panther for Lucas Auer. From the 9th to the 11th of June, Lucas will swap his Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM BWT for another fluorescent pink BWT Mercedes-AMG GT3. He will make his race debut in the ADAC GT Masters at Spielberg with his former team, BWT Mücke Motorsport. The Austrian leads the DTM as he heads to Styria for his first home race of the year. After the first two DTM race weekends of the season, Lucas heads the drivers' standings by 16 points and has taken two wins from four races.

'My start to the new DTM season was brilliant,' says Lucas. 'But I have to say that I can't honestly now imagine the DTM without my Pink Panther, so I'm really pleased that my BWT Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be liveried in the same colours. Last weekend, I was able to see my second Pink Panther, the one that I'll be racing in the ADAC GT Masters, in action at the Motorsport Festival Lausitzring – quite tasty!'

The Austrian already knows BWT Mücke Motorsport from their time together in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and the DTM. The 22-year-old secured his maiden victory in the DTM with the Berlin-based outfit last year at the Lausitzring. 'I've already driven in Formula 3 for Peter Mücke's team and then joined them in the DTM,' said Lucas. 'We have so many shared memories, including our incredible first DTM win at the Lausitzring last year. It's great to see them all again. I hope we can enjoy more success together in the ADAC GT Masters.'

Lucas will share the cockpit of his new Pink Panther with Sebastian Asch at Spielberg. Sebastian is the son of former DTM driver Roland Asch. Towards the end of 2015, Asch junior was invited to test the DTM championship-winning car of 2015 for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport as a reward for taking his second title win in the ADAC GT Masters. Stefan Mücke lined up alongside Asch in the ADAC GT Masters for the first two race weekends of the season. Lucas will take his place in Spielberg.

For Lucas, this will be the first of two races in his home country this year. After competing in the ADAC GT Masters, he will return to Austria for the penultimate race weekend of the DTM season (22nd - 24th September) when he will be back behind the wheel of his other Pink Panther – the #22 Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM BWT.
