Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross Returns To Atlantic City Aiming To Solidify Championship StandingWinners of the last two Red Bull Global Rallycross races look to Atlantic City doubleheader to build their points lead.

Herndon, VA — Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross will be back in action this weekend for another doubleheader in Atlantic City, rounds eight and nine of the 2017 championship season. Drivers Tanner Foust and Scott Speed currently sit first and second in the Driver's Championship standings while Volkswagen holds a commanding lead in the Manufacturer's Championship points, with a chance to clinch its second-straight title after the Atlantic City event.

After a victory at the team's home race in Indianapolis last month, Scott Speed reclaimed the second position in the championship, and now sits 26 points behind his teammate, Tanner Foust. The driver of the No. 41 Oberto Circle K Beetle GRC—who now shares the title of Red Bull Global Rallycross's winningest driver with teammate Foust—hopes to repeat his victory in Atlantic City from 2016, giving him a boost in the points before the final three races of the 2017 season.

'Last year, we got an important win here in Atlantic City, so I'm hoping that good luck can continue this time around,' said Speed. 'If we can keep plugging away like we have been recently, I'm confident that we can come out of this weekend with two good results.'

Tanner Foust will be looking for his first win since June in the No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle GRC. The championship leader enters Atlantic City feeling like he has unfinished business at the airfield circuit at Bader Field.

'We were having a great race here last year until a big hole bit us with just a couple laps from the checkered flag,' said Foust. 'The key to this weekend will be avoiding problems. There are a lot of points on the line, and we know we need to grab as many as we can.'

The Atlantic City doubleheader will air LIVE on NBC. 5PM (ET) on Saturday, August 12 and 4:30PM (ET) on Sunday, August 13.
