Silverstone, 22 September 2017 – Ferrari North Europe hosted its 8th annual Charity Event at Silverstone today, with 50 very special and deserving children from long-time Ferrari partners Rays of Sunshine, an award-winning national children's charity which brightens up the lives of seriously ill children in the UK aged three to 18 years old by granting wishes, and ben, the automotive industry's own benevolent fund.

The children were treated to an incredible passenger ride in a Ferrari 488 Spider around the Silverstone Stowe circuit, with each ride being recorded on in-car videos for the children and families to take away as a very special memory from the day. The sun was shining on the Silverstone circuit, but even that couldn't compete with the smiles on the faces of the children as they experienced a truly unforgettable experience in a Ferrari on circuit, just part of the Ferrari 70th Anniversary celebrations in 2017.

The charity event was hosted by Tom Clarkson, BBC F1 Correspondent, and also saw two very special guests who came to share their passion with the children: Montana Brown, recently announced as the face of MTV News, and Rene Arnoux, ex-Ferrari F1 driver. Francesco Balli, Regional Manager of Ferrari North Europe, commented: 'This event is a great opportunity for us to share our passion for Ferrari with some very deserving children from Rays of Sunshine and from ben, two great charities with whom we have been working together for many years. The smiles on the faces of these children as they experience the thrill of riding in a Ferrari, that is what makes this event such an incredible event for us to support. No matter what hardships these children are experiencing in their lives, just for one day, we can help them forget about it all and just enjoy and have some fun.'

Ferrari 70th Anniversary celebrations continue at Ferrari Racing Days, Silverstone, this weekened, with a packed schedule of on-track activities from the F1 Clienti, FXX, 599XX, FXX K and the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli. Apart from the end of season Finali Mondiali, the Ferrari Racing Days event at Silverstone is the only location in the UK where Ferrari fans will be able to see all of these different track activities at the same venue on the same weekend, as part of Ferrari's 70th Anniversary celebrations.

The F1 Clienti will see important and historic F1 cars from Ferrari's illustrious racing heritage take to the track each day for demonstration laps. Ferrari is unique amongst F1 teams because, not only has the Scuderia Ferrari won more F1 Constructor's Titles than any other team, but also because it allows the most loyal and passionate Ferrari clients the chance to live their dream – to own and drive a Ferrari F1 car on a GP circuit.

The FXX, 599XX and FXX K experimental development cars will also take to the track twice each day, for development work on new technologies that form the cornerstone of this programme, with the special Client Test Drivers pushing their XX cars to the limit on the fast and challenging Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. This is the only opportunity for Ferrari fans to see and hear the FXX Evo, 599XX Evo and FXX K cars running on a circuit in the UK this year – with the Evoluzione versions of both cars sure to set the Northamptonshire countryside reverberating to the sound of high-revving Ferrari V12s on full throttle.
